Parent and School Collaboration

Collaboration between the parent, school, and DCPS can help our team better understand if the student may have a disability.

Parents have no obligation or responsibility regarding school participation.

Other Recommendations

  • We encourage schools and parents to communicate about any student concerns prior to a referral being submitted to ensure everyone is on the same page before the process begins.
